Men of Merit — 2001

In 2001, Andrew Ramroop was recognised with the Men of Merit Award for his achievements as a Savile Row tailor.

By then, he had led Maurice Sedwell for over a decade, maintaining the Ultra Bespoke standards the house was built on while growing its reach to clients across the world. The recognition came from within the industry that had shaped him, and it meant something for that reason.

It would not be the last time his work was acknowledged. But every recognition, however large or small, points to the same thing: a 17-year-old tailor who arrived in Britain with nothing but enthusiasm and perseverance and built a lasting legacy on Savile Row.
